Some users have found our chairs much firmer compared to others, so we’re here to explain why.
We formulated our patent-pending foam mix to be medium firm because a firmer chair is better for you in the long run.
Studies show that firmer foam surfaces provide continuous support while reducing the buildup of pressure exerted upon the body, for instance, on the sit bones. This helps reduce the risk of back pain arising from long hours of sitting.
While we understand that softer chairs may feel more comfortable to most users in the beginning, soft foam is prone to ‘bottoming out’ through use over time, particularly over areas where greater pressure is exerted, like the thigh and sit bone areas. When this happens, pressure redistribution becomes less effective, and over time, the user may not receive the support their body needs through longer periods of use. This could lead to discomfort, and pain and may exacerbate existing musculoskeletal conditions.
